I am a Native English-speaking Canadian citizen who graduated from McMaster University in 2011 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History. As well, I graduated from Global TESOL College in September 2011 with an Advanced and Foundations TESOL Certificate, including specializations in teaching children and business English.

For a year, I went to Yinchuan and taught Chinese students English. It was an adventure of a lifetime. I celebrated Chinese New Years in Beijing and made great friends from all over the world. Not only did I teach English, I also taught about American, or Western, culture and customs. I've done quite a bit of travelling to places such as the United States, Cuba, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Honduras, Belize, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Belgium, and France. I want to see as much of the world as I can.

I have many interests. I love cheesy action films, enjoy good comedy and music like Afrobeat and Krautrock. I like playing strategy games, such as Risk, and word games like Scrabble. As well, I enjoy fishing, canoeing and the outdoors.

I have an abundance of energy and a high level of patience. As well, I have a sincere love for students of all ages and enjoy creating a comfortable atmosphere for students not only to learn, but to also enjoy the learning process. I am very creative and open-minded to cultural differences. Most of all, I consider myself a friendly and outgoing individual, who will strive to be a useful asset to you. Hope to hear from you soon and I wish you all the best!

Sincerely,

Phillip Melvyn George Ling
